Thanks to all of the folks on the WordPress Support Forum for helping Root and I fix the Internet Explorer bug with this layout. Turns out, deleting the following line from your wp-layout.css:

In .feedback delete: clear: both

This fixes the IE bug without introducing new bugs (that I can tell) with other web browsers. Looks like we have a winner.
