Bad Behavior

I had seen lots of bloggers mentioning the Bad Behavior plugin for WordPress, which intends to stop blog spammers from ever reaching your site…nevermind being able to post comment spam.

So I have installed it on this blog to check it out and see how it does. Since it has gotten great reviews, I have completely deleted my WordPress blacklist to see how effective this plugin is.

Assuming it ends up working well, I will install the Bad Behavior Stats plugin to show my visitors that this blog is spam free :)

Beklin USB hub

Got a pleasant surprise when I arrived home tonight and the Belkin 7-port USB 2.0 hub that I ordered on Monday had arrived.

The coolest thing about it is that there are 5-ports on the back (coincidently, just enough for all of my devices: printer, scanner, external hard drive, iPod, camera) and then two ports accessable from the top of the device (perfect for flash drives and anything temporary). What a stellar design. Bonus points for it matching my external hard drive (a Seagate 120 GB) and for the most part my computer.

This replaces the 4-port USB 2.0 hub that I used before today.

Top 10 Requests for iTunes 5

iPodlounge has an article titled iTunes 5: Our Top Ten Requests.

I would add 3 simple requests to theirs:

  1. Fix Sound Check: Use ReplayGain, which is far more accurate in making every song’s volume stay the same and does not degrade the sound quality. Also add an album mode.
  2. Gapless support: Make it enjoyable to listen to an entire Pink Floyd album without hearing a 1/2 second gap between tracks.
  3. Toast pop-up: I would love it if a little Toast window popped up in the bottom right-hand corner when a song changes, complete with artist, song, album, and the album artwork.

That is all I ask. Please Apple, do this for my sanity!
